CEFALY Technology attaches great importance to the protection of your privacy.
This Privacy Notice provides you with detailed information regarding the protection of your personal information by CEFALY Technology sprl, whose registered office is located at Rue Louis Plescia, 34-4102 Seraing, Belgium.

We are responsible for the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in the course of our activities. The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to inform you of the personal information that we collect, how it is used and disclosed, and your rights related to this information and how to exercise them. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

1. Personal information

CEFALY is committed to protecting the privacy of the public and will collect no personal information from you unless you choose to provide that information. Please see below for our privacy policy that specifically applies to information gathered from participants in the CEFALY Pregnancy Registry.

2. Visit Information

When you visit Headaches.com, our tracking agent automatically collects some basic information about your computer, including the following: your most recently visited URL, IP address (your computer’s unique signature), operating system and browser software.

The information collected reflects the user population as a whole rather than focusing on individuals. It is used to better understand the people who visit the site. This information allows CEFALY to identify the most popular pages on Headaches.com.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device to help Headaches.com and our related services perform efficiently and seamlessly and perform certain functions.  Cookies are unique to your account, your browser, or your device, and are a user’s identification card for the CEFALY servers.  They do not contain names but contain technical information about your device and/or browser.  Every time you go back to the same website, the browser or device sends the cookie file to the website’s server.  Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies.  Cookies cannot access, read, or modify any data on your computer. Learn more about cookies at https://allaboutcookies.org/.

In addition to cookies, there are other similar technologies like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”).  These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our website or opened an email that we have sent them.‍

We use cookies and similar technologies on Headaches.com, as most websites do. Cookies allow us, among other things, to store your preferences and settings, authenticate and log you in, provide you with a personalized experience, keep our websites secure, and analyze how our websites and online services are performing. Tracking pixels and other similar technologies allow us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our website from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

The following section provides information on the types of cookies we use for our websites and related services:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are used for the operation of our website and related services, authentication of visitors, and to help remember your preferences.  These cookies may not be disabled and are required for the operation of our websites and related services.
  • Functional Cookies: These cookies enable our website and related services to provide enhanced functionality and personalization.  They may be set by CEFALY or by third-party providers.  If you do not allow these cookies, some services may not function properly.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use third-party cookies such as Google Analytics to gather information about website user activities.  These analytics cookies help us analyze and improve the performance of Headaches.com. They also help us understand how you use our website and related services, and which types of devices you use to access them.  Third-party analytics cookies may use IP addresses, but are generally not tied to other personal information. ‍
  • Social Media Cookies: Headaches.com includes buttons and cookies from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media companies that allow you to share content via their services if you are a member and signed in.  Any interactions with those features are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the social media companies.  Please consult those privacy and cookie policies to understand how they use your information or to disable cookies that they may set.
  • Advertising Cookies: These cookies may be set through our website by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. We also work with third party ad networks to display advertising on Headaches.com and on third party websites. Our ad network vendors use technologies to collect information about your activities on Headaches.com  to provide you cookie-based targeted advertising on Headaches.com and on third party websites based upon your browsing activity and your interests.

A complete list of the cookies we utilize can be found in our Cookie Policy https://www.cefaly.com/cookie-policy.  If you are located in the European Union, we do not set analytics, advertising, or other third-party cookies without your consent. Of course, we don’t request your consent for cookies that are necessary to display content that you have requested or to provide other functions that you have requested while interacting with our site.

We allow selected third parties to place cookies through our website to provide us with better insights into the use of the websites and more. Cookies on our website that are supplied by us are called “first-party cookies,” while cookies on our website that are provided by third parties (such as Google Analytics) are called “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies are operated by third parties that can recognize your device across the Internet, such as when you visit other websites or mobile apps. We do not control how third-party cookies are used, and we encourage you to check the websites of any third-party cookie providers for more information about how they use cookie information. For a list of our third-party cookies, please see the list at CEFALY’s Cookie Policy https://www.cefaly.com/cookie-policy.

You can always revoke your consent by notifying us at privacy@cefaly.com at any time. Another option is to change your web browser settings in the “advanced settings” menu of your browser, or you can change your settings in the Cookies Dashboard by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our site to reject cookies.  You may wish to refer to http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/index.html for information on commonly used browsers.  Please be aware that if cookies are disabled, not all features of our website may operate as intended.

For more information on cookies generally (in a range of European languages) and how to opt out of many common cookies (which are not necessarily used on our website), have a look at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/.
