My name is Miriam.
I am 64 years old. I have had headaches for about
60 years of my life so severe that I thought I was
blind. I used to go in the bathroom and pound my head
on the porcelain of the toilet, throw up, crawl back
to the door jam, and fall asleep there, because I
couldn't lay my head down. I have tried to prepare
my childrens' birthday parties. The day of their party,
I was not able to be downstairs. I have always been
very nauseous with these headaches - blind, totally
blind - and I feel like I am a human being now that
I have seen Dr. Klemons. He treated me, and 3 1/2
years since then, my headaches are gone. Thank God

"I was involved in
a car accident in 1987, at which time I banged my
head repeatedly, including at least one time against
the steel post between the front and back door. Following
that time, I was virtually unable to function on my
own, almost always needing help to cook, clean or
even remember to do things. Prior to the time that
I was referred to Dr. Ira Klemons and The Center for
Head and Facial Pain, my headaches were so excruciating
that I had to be taken to hospital Emergency Rooms
as often as four times per month, often by ambulance.
One time, the pain was so excruciating that I begged
the policeman who accompanied the ambulance to shoot
me with his gun because I could not stand the pain
any longer. It was common for me to arrive at the
Emergency Room screaming that I wanted to die because
of the pain. After 14 years of this hellish existence,
I was referred to Dr. Klemons by Dr. Laura Bridges.
I have not had to go the Emergency Room even one time
since I started treatment, nor have I experienced
a single episode of pain which remotely resembles
the experience I had prior to this treatment. Regardless
of the fact that we have not yet completed therapy,
I am able to cook, clean and take care of myself in
a fashion that was impossible for the past 14 years.
P.S. I am adding the following information now that
I am being discharged from Dr. Klemons' office pain
free. I can truly say that after almost 15 years of
agonizing pain, he and his staff truly gave me back
my life. I can take care of myself and smile, laugh
and have fun for the first time since the accident."

thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you
for the facial treatment that felt like I was being
pampered at the spa. Thank you for eradicating the
constant pain in my head. Thank you for not just treating
the symptoms, but healing the source of the pain.
Thanks for the jokes when I was low, the phone calls
when I was vulnerable, and the information when I
was confused. Thank you for holding me in the palm
of your hands until I was strong enough and positive
enough to be on my own again. Your staff deserves
much recognition and praise. They all do such a great
job with your patients. Please know that I will miss
their nurturing ways and their bright smiles. They
all did so much for me. They are a top-notch group
of people.
I have had occasion
to work with many doctors over an extended period
of time. I have come to the conclusion that there
is a vast difference between "treating" patients and
"healing" them. In my opinion, you are a true healer.
You are the best of the best I will be forever grateful
to you for your hard work, your research, your diligence,

2001, I was hit by a jack knifing tractor-trailer.
A year later, I got rear-ended by another careless
driver. I was being treated for both accidents with
no signs of relief for my headaches and face pain
until I was referred to your Center for treatment.

1995, his face was badly damaged and now has metal
